My name is Kalina and I have recently joined Genestack as a PR/Marketing Intern.
A few months ago I graduated from UCL with a Masters in Human Genetics. During the last couple of years I worked in various labs: some academic, researching ageing and neurodegeneration, some commercial, dealing with DNA testing.
After graduating I decided to leave the lab bench and looked for a company that lies at the interface of science and business. This is how I found Genestack.
What am I doing at Genestack?
My job is to let more people know how awesome Genestack is. For everyone: biologists, bioinformaticians, and developers.
My main point of interest is bridging science and business, hence making science useful for everyone. It is estimated that by 2050, 1 billion people will have their genomes sequenced. Obviously, we need people to analyse all this information!
Genestack is a platform that allows scientists to analyse and share their data, tools, and pipelines without much specialist bioinformatics knowledge, making computational biology less scary. And it is exactly what the world of genomics software needs right now.
Apart from spreading the word on the uses and applications of Genestack I am also working on tutorials and tutorial videos, so everyone can quickly learn about all the cool apps on the platform.
