Platform Update 0.26.0 - What's New

30.12.15
Good news! It's time to announce our next release - Platform Update 0.26.0. It comes with several new important features and interface improvements as well as bug fixes and performance enhancements. First of all, we've added a new interface feature: improved headers with file links. Now the header, next to the application name, always includes a file link. This way you can tell easily what file or folder is open in the app. Clicking this file link provides you with the familiar context menu, from which you can share the file, add it to a folder, rename it, open it with another application and so forth. DGE_headers Secondly, all files now have a copy accession item in their context menus. This helps you access files in the system faster. Use this action to copy the selected file's accession to the clipboard. Then you can paste it on any Genestack screen we will identify the file in a pop-up. You can then use the context menu to do work on this file. Here, for example, what this looks like in Task Manager: copy_accession Thirdly, an improvement what we're especially happy to announce is the ability to run command line apps on multiple samples. This is a much requested feature! Now it's much easier to construct complex pipelines. Prior to this, to build a pipeline you had to process a single sample first, and then use the resulting data flow. Now you'll be able to do this for multiple samples and analyse them together right away. For example, if you'd like to perform Differential Gene Expression Analysis, you can select all sequencing assays from an experiment, preprocess all of them (e.g using Trim Adaptors and Contaminants app and others), then analyse all the preprocessed samples with Spliced Mapping, further quantify raw coverage for all resulting mappings and test Differential Gene Expression on all the mapped counts. Test_DGE Clicking on "7 files" link will show you the list of created files, and will allow you to share them, add them to a specific location, start their initialization, edit their metadata and so on: DGE_link Last, but not least, we'd like to introduce a new application - Subsample Reads. It allows you to create a subset of not only raw reads but of mapped reads as well. All you need to do is to choose the files and find the app in preprocess section: Subsample_mapped_reads Keep tabs on Genestack and stay tuned for more exciting features and updates! If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to leave them in comments below or email us. Thank you and Happy New Year! :) Genestack team
