We have already made our position very clear in regard to the invasion of Ukraine. We condemn the attacks of the Russian government, and we stand with the Ukrainian people, including our own colleagues and their families.
Today we are announcing that we will be suspending all our activities in Russia indefinitely.
Genestack was founded in Cambridge, UK, 11 years ago and over the years we established our presence in St. Petersburg, Boston, Munich, Barcelona, Edinburgh and other locations, where we worked on data science, software engineering, bioinformatics, sales and marketing and so forth. We became a distributed, global team.
The decision to suspend operations in Russia affects the company and the people who have committed and dedicated themselves to our mission, improving lives through the best use of data. However, seeing what is happening, we did not have to deliberate much. We cannot in clear conscience work in or with Russia to improve lives when lives are being destroyed.
Many of our colleagues from Russia have already left the country, and we are supporting them, as we will all our employees. We are continuing to work around the clock with all our customers across the spectrum of life science organisations to ensure their data operations are continuing to run smoothly and our products are making a meaningful contribution.
Thank you.
