Genestack's Lunch & Learn Series | 2018

The lunch and learn series is simple. Each quarter we invite a local biology/bioinformatics professional to present at the Genestack HQ in Cambridge. We invite other biologists/bioinformaticians to listen, discuss the presentation and network. It is free to attend and Genestack provides all attendees with food and drinks.

SPEAKER: Andrew White, Computational Toxicologist, Unilever PLC

PRESENTATION: Applications of Computational Toxicology for Non-animal Alternatives for Risk Assessment

 

Andrew White is a computational toxicologist in the Safety & Environmental Assurance Centre at Unilever PLC. He has published and presented extensively on the applications of in vitro assay development, genomics and bioinformatics. Andrew's current focus is on the applications of computational toxicology for non-animal alternatives for risk assessment and the integration of in vitro and in silico methodology for systems biology. He has represented Unilever on several external academic and industry research forums and currently represents Unilever on the Industry forum for the European Bioinformatics Institute and as a scientific advisor for Cosmetics Europe on the Seurat-1 FP7 Research Initiative on the Detective project for developing and assessing in vitro assays for repeat dose toxicity, and as Co-Chair of the safety assessment working group.
