Pride Month is here and at Genestack this means more to us than just waving a flag and saying the word diversity occasionally.
Our Head of Customer Growth, Leo Whyte, explains:
"Pride month is an important event at Genestack both as a company but also personally as a leader.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, as well as being gender non-conforming, I know what it is like to be on the sharp end of discrimination and abuse.
In Genestack I have found a company that values each employee as an individual - not a number, celebrates our victories and supports us through our troubles like a family.
Many of us, both in and outside the LGBTQIA+ community, know the importance of a chosen family when our own families reject us for just being who we are. Every day I see and hear how our employees at every level of the company are supporting, helping and defending each other through tough situations. That is something rare and something I'm so honoured to be a part of.
I'm humbled to be a team member in a company and a leadership team that stands in proud defence of each of our employees' rights to equality and values diversity as a foundation to a great team, rather than a tick box on a corporate training sheet.
